Peace carries a quiet strength, its smoke‑etched surface softening into gentle contrasts that invite stillness.
The Making
Sculptor Deborah Gall begins each heart by shaping stoneware clay with her hands. Once formed, she entrusts the wet clay to her mentee, Jessica, who intuitively carves into the surface, drawing out the energy that surrounds the piece. In this process, a unique, living name emerges.
The Fire Ritual
That name is carried into the ancient Raku “birthing through fire” ritual. The heart is lifted glowing from an 1800° kiln and placed into a vessel of combustibles. Flames leap and swirl around the form, while smoke etches its mark in patterns that can never be repeated.
Unique to Peace
This heart’s surface holds gentle contrasts, embodying calm and reflection. Its presence invites a sense of sanctuary into any space.
