Mystique

Mystique is hand-sculpted clay.

The sculptor Deborah Gall creates a feminine form with her hands from stoneware clay. Once formed, she passes the wet clay to Jessica, whom she mentors. Jessica then intuitively carves the clay to bring out the specific energy surrounding this creation. During this process, an energetic’ name emerges.

We carry that name through the Raku ‘birthing through fire’ process in which the wall sculpture is taken out of a red hot 1200° kiln and placed on a bed of sawdust. Immediately the body ignites, and fire swirls around the form. Smoke leaves its mark in unique, interesting patterns as it calms and cools. We embellish the feminine form with various combustibles which bring out unique shapes, patterns, and colors.

During the finishing process, many of the bodies are adorned with crystals. These feminine bodies are as unique as their name. They will add a beautiful divine feminine “energy” to your home.
